Quality Youth Sports Programs Since 2003
Play Flag Football is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Campbell, California. We operate a variety of sports-related programs serving children in the greater San Francisco Bay area. In 2008, Play Flag Football will serve an estimated 10,000 children and their families. Our mission is to provide safe and enjoyable recreation for all program participants. We stress positive coaching and an environment where all children are given the opportunity to succeed.
We post over 10,000 photos per week from our league activities to our web site at www.PlayFlagFootball.com, which receives over 500,000 page views per month. Photos are organized by team, and are easily accessible.
History
In the spring of 2003, San Jose Youth Flag Football introduced the NFL Youth Flag Football program to the south bay. The goal was to create a program that taught kids basic football skills in a fun, positive environment. The inaugural league had 150 participants and played at a single park in San Jose.
The organization experienced steady growth and introduced several innovative features as it matured. By 2006, the league had grown to serve over 1,500 participants annually.
In 2007, the San Jose NFL Youth Flag Football expanded to offer leagues in Santa Clara and Morgan Hill. The company was reorganized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit and renamed Play Flag Football. This past year, through its league and summer camp programs, Play Flag Football served over 4,000 children in the south bay.
